So, a month into this project, I'd say the blog process is going pretty well. I'm fulfilling the primary function of this website, which is to post my assignments for Dr. Solomon's #dmcult class. In my first blog post, I mentioned I wanted to also use this space as a food blog, and clearly that hasn't been working out. As of right now, I kind of like using this space solely for class assignments, because I feel like including my own personal posts would unnecessarily clutter my minimalistic blog. So I hereby proclaim this website will be just for assignments (maybe in the future I'll turn it into something else).
You may have noticed I changed some design elements of the website. Here's everything I did:
Added banner to each page
Before the banner, my website was just a boring gray website with some mediocre blog posts I wrote. Now, it's got a little bit of color? I tried to make this website nicer on the eyes without compromising my minimalistic aesthetic, which I think is working for me.
Added an archive to the blog
This blog has only been live for a month, so the archive, which has just one line that says "September 2017" looks a little sad. Hopefully, as I keep writing, it'll look a little better.
Added social page
Seeing how this class revolves around social media, I thought it would be fitting if I linked my Instagram account. However, the main reason I added it was because I felt my website needed another page. That's basically it.
Well, that's all for now! Happy scrolling.
